88th Company Office

Why 88th?

I think the number 8 is a cool design on its own. It has many different meaning to people, such as infinity and so on, but for me they are an homage to very special people in my life!

Who am I?

My name is Sonia T., I’m artist and designer  with a very big passion for the WWI, WWII era and everything old and historical. For years I couldn’t find a way to really express it. Yes, I did collect vintage posters, militaria items and so on, but that wasn’t enough for me! I had to draw it, create it and make it into something! So 88th Co. became my canvas.

Please understand that I do not accept any offensive, political or religious art work. My goal is to simply celebrate moments in history or tell a fictional story inspired by military stories/uniforms/designs, automotive or anything vintage and beautiful. Like many artists before me, my interest lies in story telling, with charm, heroism and love for engineering wonders (cars, airplanes, ships and so on). Thanks for understanding.

Artwork by 88th company

Since I studied digital design, I rely on both my brushes and my computer to create my art. With this combination, it is easier to make designs available on all mediums of any shape and form. Moreover, it is a perfect way to bring hand work to the digital age

My sources of inspiration are from museums, movies, comic books, paintings, books, archives, Pinterest, Youtube, and much more. I really enjoy vintage automotive and military designs, because of its rich stories of heroism, innovation and engineering.  I also enjoy looking at vintage design compositions and how it was made. Today we live in a digital era, where everything is faster and easier to do than ever before. That’s why I use hand made work in all my art, because imperfection brings a soul to every piece.

Painting Method:

All the designs are first sketched, hand inked and finally scanned into Photoshop and Illustrator. Once the design is digitalized or vectorized, I can apply colors and save it under an image.

The design is Unique:

My goal is to design something different, vintage and unique.
